When traveling together, your pet can be in the cabin with you, or in the hold.

The journey may be undertaken with a cargo aircraft or commercial/passenger aircraft (in the hold).

On the day trip, an agent of Universal Pet Brazil will be with you and your pet at the airport for the final procedures .

TIPS FOR A QUIET AND SAFE JOURNEY
GET YOUR PET ACCUSTOMED TO THE CRATE
The best is to get the crate in advance so your pet has enough time to get used to it. There are actually two ways that can help to remove, or at least reduce, the boarding kennel trauma.
1st: Never fully close the crate until the day of the trip, make the crate available to the pet little by little as following:
Initially for few days, only use the bottom part of the crate, putting in some cloths soaking of your smell and his, some toys, and feed him in the crate (only the bottom of it). As your pet is getting used to it, put the top part of the crate, but without the door for few more days. Getting closer to the departure day, put on the door, but let it open (do not close it). Finally, only close the door on the day of the trip.
2nd: Before the meals, put your pet in the crate and close the door for 15-20 minutes. Then open the door, make him a cuddle and serve his meal. Finally, on the day of the trip close the door permanently.
TEACH YOUR PET TO USE THE AUTOMATIC WATER DISPENSER
Make sure to get a water dispenser enough in advance. If he never used that before, you need to train him for the trip.
Put some tasty food or sweet food that he likes on the edge of the dispenser (where he needs to touch for the water to be released), then gradually decrease the amount of food on the dispenser.
To check if he learnt, simply take off all the water bowls from the house, and leave the water dispenser only, fixed on the outside of the crate (so he doesn’t need to get in the cage to drink).
KEEP YOUR PET HEALTHY
When your animal’s travelling to a new country, he will face a new climate and atmospheric conditions. It means and he is at risk of getting some sickness that doesn’t exist in Brazil, because he’s not immunized or miss antibodies. Also, because of the “stress” of the trip, the animal can potentially be in lower resistance which could compounded the situation.
That’s why, it’s very important to keep your pet up-to-date with its vaccinations. If possible make sure he had the vaccines for Giardia, Influenza and v10, in addition to Rabies (which is mandatory in most of countries).
Before the journey, we recommend to bring your pet to the vet, so he can do a health assessment, and also receive an internal and external antiparasitics treatment (standard procedure for all Universal Pet Brazil clients). If you detect some coat flaws or skin sores on your pet, treat him ahead of the trip, as some countries may prohibit his entrance on the territory on suspicion of contagious or parasitic infectious disease.
